Cong Peiwu arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran for his new tenure on Friday.
He has formerly been China’s ambassador to Canada and has also worked at the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He replaces Chang Hua who served in the Chinese embassy in Tehran for a five-year term.
Chang has been appointed China’s new ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
